When I was a young, I thought about a career as either as a doctor, a civil engineer, or a scientist.  I chose medicine because I wasn’t wild about physics and I wanted to work around people more than in a lab or a building.  I chose oncology when I worked on a project with an Oncologist. I saw that he really made a difference in people’s lives, whether it was to cure cancer, send it into remission, or just help patients live longer with a better quality of life.  I knew that is what I wanted to do.

I chose HOA because I wanted to get out of New York City, but not too far.  During my interviews, I was very impressed with the size and depth of the practice and how well-organized it is. The people here at HOA really work as a team.  The leadership is excellent. Maryann is a very good CEO; she motivates everyone in the practice.  And, the senior partners are all very professional and respectful to everyone.  From a patient perspective, I believe HOA provides the absolute best care, rivaling any practice in the country.

Our patients seem to really appreciate what we do for them.  They have a resilient attitude that has taught me to appreciate life more. I spend a lot of time playing with my daughter and son.  Also, I collect shot glasses - I have probably 50 or 60. My favorites are from the Corning museum of glass and one from Rome, Italy.  It’s just one of my ways of relaxing.
