Who is Part of Your Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma Care Team?

After a diagnosis of non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL), you will have a dedicated team of specialists caring for you.

A hematologist-oncologist, a specialist in blood disorders, including blood cancers like NHL, will lead your care team. Your hematologist-oncologist will spend time with you to make sure you understand your specific type of NHL and develop a personalized treatment plan.

At HOA, you may also meet with other members of the cancer care team throughout your treatment program, including:

Physician assistant and/or nurse practitioner
These professionals support oncologists by meeting with patients and serving as a liaison to answer questions and assess each patient's response to treatment.

Radiation oncologist
Most lymphoma patients don’t receive radiation therapy as part of their treatment. However, if it is part of your treatment plan, the HOA radiation oncologist will discuss the treatment plan and goals with you.

Oncology-certified nurses
HOA's infusion room is staffed by nurses specifically trained in administering cancer treatments.

Supportive care specialists
This team helps manage treatment side effects and provides emotional support throughout treatment and beyond.

Dietitians
Registered dietitians make diet recommendations for cancer patients to help cope with the effects of cancer and its treatment.

Social worker
This professional assists with mental and emotional needs and identifies helpful community resources for patients.

Patient financial counselor
This individual helps with payment planning, interacts with your insurance provider, and identifies potential financial assistance options.
