Medical Oncologist

Coordinates and oversees a treatment plan with other specialists. Medical oncology treatments include chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapy.

Thoracic Surgeon

Performs surgery to remove the lung cancer, when it’s included in the treatment plan.

Radiation Oncologist

Plans and administers radiation therapy, including state-of-the-art CyberKnife® radiation therapy, to treat lung cancer.

Radiologists and Pathologists

Provide precise imaging and diagnostic analysis to determine the most effective treatment approach.

Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, and Medical Assistants

Serve as liaisons between the oncologist and patient, guiding them through treatment and offering education and support.

Oncology Nurses

Our infusion-certified oncology nurses are with patients throughout each infusion to administer drugs and monitor side effects, ensuring patient comfort and safety.

Patient Nurse Navigators

These nurses help patients navigate their treatment journey by providing personalized guidance with appointment setup, answering questions, accessing support resources, and more. HOA’s lung cancer team includes a Thoracic Surgery Nurse Navigator who works with other nurses and patient navigators and helps lung cancer patients through the surgery portion of treatment.

Social Workers and Supportive Care Specialists

Assist with emotional, financial, and logistical challenges to ensure comprehensive patient care.
